"What's Blue to You?" at Portland International Airport

High Fiber Diet's exhibit "What's Blue to You?" is now on display at the Portland Airport in Concourse B.  It's behind security, so you have to be a traveler in order to see the show.  The exhibit will be up through the end of May, 2015, so if you are traveling, be sure to set aside a few extra minutes to see the 17 quilts interpreting the word "blue".  My quilt, Dakota Sky, is fourth from the left.

In the same concourse, across the hallway, is an exhibit by the Westside Modern Quilt Guild depicting Portland Bridges.  Lots of reasons to travel this winter and spring!

"What's Blue to You?" Opens at Portland International Airport

My quilt Dakota Sky has been included in High Fiber Diet's newest exhibit, "What's Blue to You?" This is a larger show than usual for High Fiber Diet, and so it has been divided into Parts A and B for some venues.  Part A, which includes my quilt,  will be on display at the Portland International Airport Concourse B, opening November 5, 2014, and running through May 28, 2015.  This area is behind security, so you need to be a traveler in order to view the exhibit there. If you won't be traveling soon, don't worry. The exhibit will be showing at other venues later in 2015.

High Fiber Diet's "Simply Red" Opens in Coos Bay

High Fiber Diet exhibit, Simply Red, opened last weekend.  The reception at Coos Bay was lovely and artists Shirley MacGregor, Kimberly Connely, Diane Born, Elizabeth Bamberger, and Jill Hoddick (and husbands) were there along with 25-30 of the public. There was good food and wine and live period music. The gallery's board came and several made very gracious comments about the work.  Pam Pilcher's redwood quilt made the poster, and Jill's piece was featured in a local coast newspaper.  Shirley did a wonderful job hanging the show.

The gallery is a bit difficult to find. It is located at 1957 Thompson Rd, Coos Bay, just beyond the hospital. It is in the lobby of the Pacific Coast Medical Park, a medical building with no signs about a gallery or exhibit.  The hours are 7:30am - 5pm Monday through Friday.  The building is not open on the weekends.  The exhibit runs until January 17, 2014.
