It's been awhile since I had quilts ready to donate, but now the logjam is breaking loose. Today I delivered 12 quilts to Rose Haven Women's Shelter in Portland. Eight were crib quilts, mostly from anonymous donors from Alaska. Two of the crib quilts were contributed by Marie of Vancouver. The larger lap-size quilts are mine. I should have more donations within a week. A little more organizing and they will be ready to go!
In case you missed it, the Visions Art Museum in San Diego put on a wonderful virtual opening for Shifting Tides and two other exhibitions that are at the museum right now. Musician Fred Benedetti provided music paired with the artwork. Take a look. It's worth your time.

My quilt, Line Dry, will be included in the exhibit. This quilt was inspired by my trip to India and Nepal in 2013. During a walk through the older part of Khajuraho I saw colorful saris hanging on clotheslines adorning dwellings painted Mediterranean blue. Upon my return home, those images made their way forward.
Pat from Anchorage and I donated this collaborative work to a fundraiser to benefit the Downtown Soup Kitchen Hope Center in Anchorage, Alaska. You can view all the auction items and read about the fundraiser here. The auction goes live November 6 and closes November 29. Check it out!
