Sunnylands, Rancho Mirage, California

Last Saturday my sister Linda and I visited Sunnylands Center and Gardens in Rancho Mirage, California.  This was the winter estate of Walter and Leonore Annenberg.  Walter Annenberg's company, Triangle Publications, published Seventeen Magazine and the TV Guide.  It also broadcast American Bandstand.  The Annenbergs donated many Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.  You can take a tour of the house, although when we were there the tour tickets were sold out.  But you can walk around the gardens, enjoy the cafe, gift shop, and visitor's center any time free of charge.  Here are some photos of the beautiful desert gardens.
