Snaps from Xi'an

Xi'an was our third stop.  The main attraction there is the Terra Cotta Warriors.

The warriors were created by artisans for the first Chinese emperor, Qin Shi Huang, in about 300 BC.  The soldiers were to protect the emperor in the afterlife. Over 8000 warriors, horses and chariots have been excavated. The site is thought to extend 38 square miles, only a small portion of which has been excavated.  It is truly an overwhelming sight.

Other photo ops in Xi'an.
